Cherchbi

Established in 2007, the company began with an idea to make bags using the wool of the English Lake District’s ancient rare-breed Herdwick. The fleece is considered almost worthless and often burned, yet Herdwicks have a 1,000-year heritage and reputation as Britain’s hardiest mountain sheep. After four years and nine weave trials this low value fleece was transformed into a high quality cloth; Herdwyck No. 10, a waterproof British tweed as robust as the Herdwick itself. The entire collection is designed and made in Britain using the best natural raw materials (waterproof tweed, vegetable-tanned leather, cotton twill and solid brass), that will age harmoniously with use.
