The Borstal gains its name from the type of reform schools wayward youth were submitted to in early 20th century England, and is a new style launched this season. The Borstal plimsolls from Generic Surplus comes in grey colour with natural canvas piping and a suede back heel panel with brogue detail, all with a non-skid tread rubber cup sole.
Generic Surplus shoes usually run smaller, we recommend that you order half-size larger than your actual size.

Generic Surplus
Generic Surplus is an extension line of The Generic Man, a brand that produced its first collection in 2006 but whose philosophical journey began in 1997. More than a decade ago, founders Brandon Day and Kevin Carney began what they call “a case study in adultism” in their NYC loft, determined to define the meaning of adulthood. They emerged with the concept of “Newdult,” a “generic man” who's tired of ostentatious street wear and luxury's unattainable pricing.
