Paraboot
Paraboot originated in 1908 in the French Alps by Remy Alexis, who was a leather artisan. Alexis decided to manufacture boots inspired by American rubber shoes, and imported the latex needed to create rubber from the port of Parra in Brazil, giving name to the brand Paraboot. Later on, his son (Julien Alexis) turned the production towards his passion - mountaineering and hiking-, and created the famous Avoriaz model. In 1919, 150 manual operations were required to make a pair of shoes. Today, not a single one has been eliminated. Paraboot is the only manufacturer in the world that makes its own rubber soles, proof of a quality rarely equalled.
